There is nothing like breaking away from chain hotels. They all look the same in their boring decor, the same type of furniture, and the ever-boring desk in the corner, and let’s not forget the dreadful disgusting carpet. They are a dime a dozen in most countries. So, if there is anywhere to break away from these chain hotels, it is in Italy, where chain hotels really aren’t a thing. This is not to say that there are no chain hotels in Italy, but nothing compared to what we have here in the States. So, since Florence happens to be my favorite city in Italy, I thought it would be perfect to highlight some of my favorite affordable boutique hotels.
Affordable Boutique Hotels In Florence
I found myself being a huge fan of boutique hotels when I started traveling outside of the US. What I love most about them is their uniqueness. Each and every one of them has its own charm, from intimate rooms adorned with local artwork to cozy lounges and hand-picked furnishings. I love the individual attention to detail and the one-of-a-kind hospitality experiences these hotels offer. These are not the sort of things you can find in chain hotels. I’m so excited to share some of my favorite affordable boutique hotels in Florence.

It offers four different room styles in elegant Florentine decor and with parquet flooring. There is a cozy lounge area that can be enjoyed any time and a charming courtyard garden perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. Also, what is great is that there is an adjoining bistro, “Osteria il Guelfo Bianco,” that serves fresh farm-to-table food, so if you don’t feel like venturing out for food, you can pop in here and enjoy some amazing food. This hotel is rated high for families with children but serves every type of traveler perfectly.

This ultra-chic B&B is just south of the Arno River. It is close to the main attractions, which makes this place amazing even though it doesn’t sit right outside of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Each room has its own private entrance. The decor is stunning, giving it an industrial chic vibe. There are five different rooms to pick from, and Ferro is my favorite. There are outdoor spaces with stunning gardens as well.
